Growing Up

As graduation nears it’s just another day closer to having to put on my big girl pants and finally face the real world. Moving away from North Dakota, from everybody and everything that I’ve ever known, is exciting but so nerve racking at the same time. I’m not sure where this crazy life is going to take me, but God has a plan and that’s all the reassurance I need.

Did I mention I’m moving all the way to Minneapolis?

I did my first adult thing last week, I signed a lease for my very first apartment. 350 square feet of apartment to be exact. I must be crazy to think I can fit everything I own in that amount of space. I move in September so I hope I can down size by then. (but probably not)

* If any of you have been in my room then you know just what I’m talking about. Clothes thrown every where and in every spot possible.

I’m nervous to live on my own and not having my mom at my disposal, but i think it’ll be good to get out of North Dakota for awhile.

5 months of school for a lifetime of happiness.

Starting in November I’ll be attending the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis for massage therapy. As most of you know, I have weird texture issues. Lotions and oils are some of them. (stay tuned to see how this works out for me)

Anyway, the massage therapy program is 5 months long (approx.) I’ll be in school Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00am-8:45pm and every other Saturday 8:00am-5:30pm. Good thing I’ll only live 6 blocks away. I’ll be in class 42 hours a week. (gross) In order to graduate I need to have 600 combined hours of various things such as safety and sanitation, body anatomy and perform 70 massages.

*I better start doing some hand work outs or my hands are really going to feel it.

What am I going to do after I’m certified to rub peoples bodies?

Well I mean I kind of know. The lease for my apartment is a year so I’m stuck in Minneapolis until the end of August. After that I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do. I suppose I won’t really know until I experience everything the great city of Minneapolis has to offer.

what a journey the next year of my life is going to be.
